The present invention relates to a device for turbo-charging air to a fuel cell vehicle. Provided are the device for turbo-charging air to a fuel cell vehicle and a controlling method thereof. In a fuel cell vehicle, which is driven by electricity produced by a fuel cell through the supplied flow of an air blower while reflecting the required electricity of a driving motor and auxiliary energy via the control of a controller according to the signals of an accelerator pedal stepped on by a driver, the device for turbo-charging air to a fuel cell vehicle comprises: a turbo-charger included in an exhaust pipe of the fuel cell to be able to satisfy the acceleration of the fuel cell vehicle if the required flow of the fuel cell is greater than the supplied flow of the air blower, and turbo-charging external air by operating a turbine using the flow of exhaust air discharged along the exhaust pipe from the fuel cell; and a turbo-charging pipe for connecting the turbo-charger to an inflow pipe so that the turbo-charged air of the turbo-charger can join inflow air introduced into the fuel cell along the inflow pipe by the air blower. The acceleration of a vehicle can be increased and the required flow of the fuel cell can be satisfied economically by varying the flow of turbo-charged air in the accelerating state of the vehicle as the driving performance of the vehicle, which is required as the efficiency of the fuel cell is increased, can be ensured if the vehicle starts in the idle stop state of the fuel cell or requires the acceleration of the driver. |
