A securing device 10 for attaching an article 110 to a support, for example a lamp to a cable, comprises a guide formation 14 and a fastening arrangement 18. The fastening arrangement consists of a resilient fastening member 20 that slides along the guide formation 14 between a fastening and a non-fastening position. The fastening member has flared portions 22 that are pushed outwardly by the guide formation to engage the article when in the fastening position. There is an urging arrangement 26 which includes a rotatable elongate drive member 28 and an urging member 32. The urging member engages the fastening member so that, when the drive member drives the urging member, the urging member forces the fastening member from the non-fastening position to the fastening position. |
