PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrial method for producing MEI type zeolite whose production cost is more inexpensive.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing MEI type zeolite comprising: a crystallization step where a raw material composition containing crystalline alumino silicate and a tetramethyl phosphonium cationic source is crystallized; where the tetramethyl phosphonium cationic source is preferably at least one kind selected from tetramethyl phosphonium hydroxide, tetramethyl phosphonium bromide, tetramethyl phosphonium chloride and tetramethyl phosphonium iodide.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
