PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an update device that generates update processing information capable of preventing occurrence of unconformity of processing or data, as information used in updating a program, and provide an information processing method.SOLUTION: An update device includes: an update inhibition function input unit that inputs an update target function to be an update target in an update target program containing a plurality of functions, and a function having correlation with the update target function, and manages each function as an update inhibition function; an update inhibition function list generation unit that generates an update inhibition function list associated with the function name and address of each function on the basis of the symbol information and address information of each function belonging to the update target program; and an update processing information management unit that manages information containing an update portion and the update inhibition function list as update processing information to a program execution destination.
