PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer electrolyte fuel cell in which the contact resistance between separators adjacent to each other can be easily reduced.SOLUTION: A fuel cell is formed by stacking a plurality of cells each of which includes a membrane electrode assembly gripped by a pair of separators 20 and 30. The separators 20 and 30 include base materials 21 and 31 made of a metal material, respectively. First layers 24 and 34 containing conductive particles 26 and 36 having a higher hardness than oxide films 23 and 33 of the base materials 21 and 31 are provided on the surfaces of the base materials 21 and 31, respectively. The first layers 24 and 34 are in contact with each other at between the separators 20 and 30 adjacent to each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
