PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analyzer that gives a high enhancement degree in an enhancement spectrum and can detect and analyze a target substance with high sensitivity.SOLUTION: An electric field enhancing element 100 includes: an electric field enhancing element comprising a metal layer 10, a light-transmitting layer 20 that is disposed on the metal layer and transmits excitation light, and a plurality of metal fine structures 40 disposed on the light-transmitting layer and arranged at a first pitch in a first direction and arranged at a second pitch in a second direction intersecting the first direction; a light source that irradiates the electric field enhancement element with linearly polarized light polarized in the first direction as excitation light; and a detector that detects light radiating from the electric field enhancement element.
