PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that is capable of securing tone correction with necessary accuracy, while reducing the toner consumption accompanied by the execution of calibration and the delay of print processing.SOLUTION: A printer comprises: a first calibration execution section 31 that generates tone correction data for high resolution by forming an image of a patch and reading it by a density sensor 18; a second calibration execution section 32 that generates tone correction data for low resolution by forming an image of a patch and reading it by the density sensor 18; and an estimation value derivation section 33 that derives an estimation value of the tone correction data for high resolution on the basis of the tone correction data for low resolution. When the tone correction data for high resolution held by a correction data holding section 24 is updated, either one of the first calibration execution section 31 and the estimation value derivation section 33 is selected and the data is updated. A tone correction section 30 performs tone correction according to the tone correction data held by the correction data holding section 24.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
