PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic contactor which does not affect the operation of a movable plunger even flux is generated by excitation of an excitation coil.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic contactor comprises a contact mechanism 2 including a pair of stationary contacts 22 and 23 and a movable contact 25 which can be contacted to and separated from the pair of stationary contacts, and an electromagnet unit 3 which drives the contact mechanism. The electromagnet unit comprises a movable plunger 35 connected to the movable contact, an excitation coil 34 which generates flux by excitation to drive the movable plunger in a driving direction, magnetic yokes 8 and 31 surrounding the excitation coil, and a stationary plunger 32 fixed to the magnetic yoke 31 and facing the driving direction of the movable plunger. The pole contact surfaces 32a and 40a of the movable plunger and the stationary plunger are formed facing the driving direction fo the movable plunger.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
