PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus including a cleaning device capable of surely scraping toner from a recovery roller, even when an electrical adhesion force between the recovery roller and the toner is strong.SOLUTION: A cleaning device 10 includes: a rotary brush 33 which collects a residual material adhered to the surface of an image carrier 7 after a toner image is transferred to a transfer paper; a recovery roller 35 which comes into contact with the rotary brush 33, to remove the residual material collected by the rotary brush 33; a cleaning blade 37 which comes into contact with the recovery roller 35, to scrape the residual material recovered to the recovery roller 35; and a seal member 39 which comes into contact with the recovery roller 35, to prevent the backflow of the toner. When the contact pressure of the cleaning blade 37 with the recovery roller 35 is defined as P(g/cm) and a contact angle between the cleaning blade 37 and the recovery roller 35 is defined as θ(°), the product (P.θ) of the contact pressure P and the contact angle θ is a predetermined value or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
