PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid that a cap abuts on a tip face of an inward annular protrusion and comes off therefrom when withdrawing an injector, in an internal combustion engine having the injector in which the cap is embedded into its tip.SOLUTION: An internal end part 33 of an inward annular protrusion 28 which regulates an insertion position of an injector 18 is made to protrude to a side of a cylinder head 2 rather than a peak 32a of an external end part 32, and an inside inclined face 31c is formed at its tip. By the guide action of the inside inclined face 33c, the come-off of a cap 25 can be prevented. Since the internal end part 33 of the inward annular protrusion 28 is extended longer than before, the linearity of intake air is enhanced, and the formation of a vortex flow caused by the abutment of the intake air on an end face 25a of the cap 25 can be prevented. A flow of the intake air can be thereby smoothed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
