The present invention relates to a system for integrating a remote metering service in a heterogeneous network and to a method thereof. According to the present invention, provided is a system for integrating a remote metering service in a heterogeneous network, comprising: a plurality of nodes for forming a network comprising upper nodes or lower nodes, and upwardly transmitting metering data thereof or the metering data of the lower nodes using a wired or wireless transmission medium; and a concentrator for receiving the metering data from at least one uppermost node among the plurality of nodes and transmitting the metering data to a remote metering server. The layers of the multiple nodes have been integrated by a common protocol except for the lowest physical layer in an OSI hierarchy structure, and direct communications between the nodes having different kinds of transmission media via the network are supported according to the common protocol. According to the system for integrating a remote metering service in a heterogeneous network and the method thereof, a large-scale network can be configured under a single DCU and a shadow area, where metering is impossible, can be minimized as upper layers are integrated by a common protocol except for the physical layer of an OSI hierarchy structure in a remote metering system to support direct communications between nodes having different kinds of transmission media based on the integrated protocol. |
