PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amphoteric ionic curable compound that excels in productivity and exhibits excellent coating film durability and biocompatibility by irradiation with active energy rays, and active energy ray-curable coating agent and a biocompatible material.SOLUTION: The amphoteric ionic curable compound has an ethylenically unsaturated group, a tertiary amino group, and a carboxyl group; and the compound is obtained by subjecting at least a part of ethylenically unsaturated groups of a curable compound (B) having three or more ethylenically unsaturated groups to Michael addition with a secondary amino group of a compound (C) having a secondary amino group and a carboxyl group.SELECTED DRAWING: None
