PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a post-processing device capable of performing movement from alignment to conveyance at a high speed while keeping fixed preciseness with respect to the alignment of sheets discharged from an image forming apparatus, and to provide an image forming system provided with the post-processing device.SOLUTION: A post-processing device is a device for performing alignment processing for sheets P discharged from an image forming apparatus, and has a front edge support member 23, a rear edge support member 25 and control means. Further, the post-processing device switches a first alignment mode of aligning the sheets P by means of the front edge support member 23 and the rear edge support member 25 every time when the sheet P is discharged from the image forming apparatus and conveying a bundle of the sheets P to a prescribed position and a second alignment mode of pressing the front edge support member against the bundle of the sheets P and performing alignment while pressing the rear edge support member against the bundle of the sheets P and conveying the rear edge support member 25 to a prescribed position after completion of sheet discharging.
