PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to suppress the occurrence of shock jitter to provide excellent image quality.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 of the present invention includes: an intermediate transfer belt 1; photoreceptor drums 2Y, 2C, 2M, and 2K; electrostatic chargers 3Y, 3C, 3M, and 3K; optical writing units 4Y, 4C, 4M, and 4K; developing units 5Y, 5C, 5M, and 5K; primary transfer rollers 6Y, 6C, 6M, and 6K; photoreceptor cleaning units 7Y, 7C, 7M, and 7K; QLs 8Y, 8C, 8M, and 8K; photointerrupters 18Y, 18C, 18M, and 18K; surface potential sensors 19Y, 19C, 19M, and 19K; a scanner part 9; an ADF 10; a paper feed tray 17; a secondary transfer unit 28; and a control part 37.
