A multiple-winding motor drive and control mechanism (1) provided with a modulation factor and phase command generation unit (13) for calculating the currents of a first and second inverter (2, 3) for driving a multiple-winding three-phase motor (5) and generating a modulation factor command and phase command for equalizing the currents, a pulse count determination unit (12) for determining a pulse count per half period from a frequency command, a pattern table (14) for storing switching patterns, and gate signal generators (15-1, 15-2) for controlling the first and second inverters (2, 3) using the optimal switching pattern based on the pulse count, wherein the modulation factor and phase command generation unit (13) carries out control for equalizing the currents of the first and second inverter (2, 3) and changes the phase and frequency of the control in accordance with one from among the pulse count, modulation factor, frequency command, and switching pattern. |
