PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate uncomfortable feeling of a driver if unable to immediately execute a downshift command of the drive during deceleration of a vehicle.SOLUTION: When a downshift detection means M2 detects downshift operation of a driver during deceleration travel in which a deceleration detection means M1 detects a deceleration of a vehicle and the deceleration becomes equal to or higher than a predetermined value, a target shift stage determination means M3 determines a target shift stage of the downshift operation, and an over rotation determination means M4 determines whether or not an engine E excessively rotates when downshifting to the target shift stage. As a result, when the engine E is determined to excessively rotate, an engine rotation speed raising means M5 and an engine rotation speed maintaining means M6 disengage clutches C1, C2 to raise and maintain engine rotation speed to a predetermined rotation speed which is below an upper limit rotation speed, and after that, when the engine E is determined to become not excessive rotation, a downshift permission means M7 executes downshift.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
