PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of a lateral stripe upon inserting a black screen in a hold response type display device.SOLUTION: A display unit 38 has: an OLED 90; a drive TFT 92 that has a source connected to the OLED 90 and has a drain connected to a drive power source, and flows a drive voltage corresponding to a storage voltage during a light emitting period; a light-up switch 94 that switch connection/disconnection between the drive power source and the drain; a rest line 78 to which reset potential to be used in a reset operation of the storage voltage in a writing period is applied from a reset power source; and a reset switch 64 that switches presence or absence of application of reset potential to the reset line 78. In a part of the light emitting period, a non-light emitting period is provided that controls the light-up switch 94 to disconnect between the drive power source and the drive TFT 92 and forcibly halt a drive current, and on the other hand, controls the reset switch 64 to set the reset line 78 to the reset potential throughout the non-light emitting period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
