The present invention provides an apparatus and a method for driving a medical robot which can be applied when placing the medical robot at a correct position for surgical procedures. In a first embodiment, the medical robot is manually moved while a operator sees an image of a cover unit through a display unit when filming the image of the cover unit using a camera. In a second embodiment, the medical robot is automatically moved when calculating relative three-dimensional positions by filming the image of the cover unit of the trocar using the camera. In a third embodiment, the medical robot is automatically moved when calculating relative three-dimensional positions by automatically reading the cover unit of the trocar through a reading unit of the medical robot. |
