PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for a front passenger seat, which is exactly able to protect a driver seating on a driver seat that may move obliquely forward and a passenger seating on a front passenger seat.SOLUTION: An air bag 15 is configured such that a rear face side after inflation has completed is used as a passenger protecting part 29 that is able to protect a passenger. The passenger protecting part 29 has a front-collision restraining face 30 and a projecting inflation part 32. The projecting inflation part 32 is arranged so as to project backward from the front-collision restraining face 30 in the sideways middle of the vehicle. The head part MH of a passenger MP moving obliquely forward on the driver seat DS side can be protected by a side face 32d on the front-collision restraining face 30 side. The head part MH of a driver MD moving obliquely forward on the front passenger seat PS side can be protected by a side face 32c on the driving seat DS side. In a front area of the projecting inflation part 32 when inflation has completed, the air bag 15 has a protruding inflation part 25 that projects so as to be arranged in front of a steering wheel 70.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17 |
