METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ESTIMATING STATE OF CAST METAL CAST BY CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating a state of a cast metal cast by a continuous casting machine, by which a surface temperature distribution and a solid phase rate distribution at a specified position of the cast metal can be consecutively calculated.SOLUTION: The method for estimating a state of a cast metal cast by a continuous casting machine is provided that includes the steps of: recognizing operation data of the continuous casting machine; estimating a heat transfer coefficient at each point of a cast metal surface by using a cooling condition of the cast metal; calculating a corrected heat transfer coefficient by using a parameter for correcting an error between the estimated heat transfer coefficient and a true heat transfer coefficient of the cast metal; successively calculating a temperature distribution and a solid phase rate distribution by using the operation data and the corrected heat transfer coefficient; measuring a surface temperature of the cast metal by using temperature measuring means; and revising the parameter each time the successive calculation is terminated, by using a deviation between the measured surface temperature of the cast metal and the calculated value of the surface temperature of the cast metal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
