The invention relates to a method for handling, in a microfluidic system, microdrops (14) which include samples (16), comprising the steps of forming, in an oil, microdrops (14) of an aqueous solution containing a sample (16), the oil and/or the aqueous solution containing a sample (16) including a gelling agent; trapping the microdrops (14) by means of surface-tension traps (12) pre-arranged in a trapping area (10); and at least partially gelling the oil in the trapping area and/or at least partially gelling the trapped microdrops (14).
