PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a monolithic type spherical catalyst, which allows for industrial scale production of the catalyst.SOLUTION: The method for producing a monolithic type spherical catalyst comprises: a step (1) of obtaining a tubular clay-like composition by kneading a raw material composition comprising powder (A) containing a catalysis active component, powder (B) for a carrier, and a binder until it becomes uniform, and thereafter molding the composition by an extruder; a step (2) of molding the clay-like composition in spheres by a rolling type pelletizer; and a step (3) of firing the clay-like composition molded into spheres. The tubular clay-like composition after extrusion molding in the step (1) has a hardness specified by a penetration test (JIS K2207) of 30 to 50.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
