The invention relates to homogeneous, aprotic liquids, containing component A) at least one polar aprotic solvent (A) selected from the group comprising organic urea derivatives, organic carbonates, organic sulfoxides, sulfamides, sulfonamides, and esters, optional component B) optionally at least one lithium salt (B), and component C) at least one salt (C) selected from salts of nitric acid and salts of nitrous acid, wherein the total mass fraction of the salts (C) with respect to the total mass of the homogeneous, aprotic liquid lies in the range of 8 to 40 wt%; and wherein the percentage change in the index of refraction of the homogeneous, aprotic liquids after being brought into contact with lithium granules under defined conditions is at most 4%. The invention further relates to a method for inhibiting the decomposition of a homogeneous, aprotic liquid by metallic lithium, to a method for improving the storage stability of an electrochemical cell in the fully charged or partially charged state, electrochemical cells containing a homogeneous, aprotic liquid according to the invention, and to a method for determining the decomposition of a homogeneous, aprotic liquid by metallic lithium. |
