Disclosed is a symmetric key generation method which includes the following steps of: transmitting identification information of a first device and first confidential data generated by the first device; receiving first signature data, identification data of a second device, and second confidential data generated by the second data, from the second data; determining whether to generate a symmetric key with the second device based on the received first signature data; and generating the symmetric key with the second device by using the received second confidential data based on a result from the determining step.
