The present invention refers to a plurality of pharmaceutical and/or nutraceutical formulations based on curcumin and myo-inositol for the adjuvant or preventive treatment of the Alzheimer disease or other chronic-degenerative ailments with important oxidative and inflammatory processes, since the food supplementation with curcumin/myo-inositol reduces the oxidative damage, the formation of amyloid plaques and the apoptosis in the nervous system. The novel compositions based on these vegetable derivatives represent a viable and highly efficient alternative for the adjuvant treatment or prevention for long periods of time of the Alzheimer disease, which is characterised in that, unlike further drugs used for the treatment of this and other diseases, it does not present side effects that may cause the suspension of the treatment. The invention also comprises methods for preparing the aforementioned formulations.
