PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an alarm seismometer to continue functioning to ensure safety at earthquakes, by operating a mode switching device at blackout and stopping the power sources of all the equipment of the alarm seismometer other than the equipment necessary for outputting a train control signal.SOLUTION: In order to allow an alarm seismometer to continue functioning at blackout, the power sources of all the equipment of the alarm seismometer other than the equipment necessary for outputting a train control signal are stopped at blackout by operating a mode switching device so that the most basic function of the seismometer to output a train control signal will continue as long as possible at blackout.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
