Provided is a position sensor capable of achieving a saving in space. This position sensor is provided with a substantially rectangular sheet-like optical waveguide (W) in which a sheet-like core pattern member is sandwiched between an under-cladding layer (1) and an over-cladding layer (3), said core pattern member being provided with: a lattice section (2A) comprising a plurality of linear cores (2); and a plurality of core outer-periphery sections (2B-2G) which extend from the cores (2) of the lattice section (2A), and which are disposed along the outer periphery of the lattice section (2A). The plurality of core outer-periphery sections (2D-2G) which extend from the lattice section (2A) of the core pattern member to light-reception elements (5A-5D) are disposed so as to be divided between one side and another side along a side edge of respective side-edge sections (F1, F2) of the substantially rectangular sheet-like optical waveguide (W), said side-edge sections (F1, F2) being where the core outer-periphery sections (2D-2G) are formed. |
