PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing delays in call setup related to circuit-switched fallback (CSFB).SOLUTION: A method at user equipment (UE) communicating via first and second radio access technologies (RAT) comprises: transmitting a UE capability message with one or more parameters selected to indicate capabilities that result in a reduced delay in processing an extended service request (ESR) message by a base station of the first RAT (402); receiving services via the base station of the first RAT (404); receiving, via a base station of the second RAT, a paging message targeting the UE (406); and transmitting the ESR message to the base station of the first RAT to request suspension of context for the UE in the first RAT (408).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
