PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starting assist device for an internal combustion engine that can efficiently improve startability even in a low-temperature environment.SOLUTION: A starting assist device for an internal combustion engine is provided in a compression ignition type internal combustion engine including a variable valve train 30 capable of optionally adjusting opening/closing timing of an exhaust valve EV. The starting assist device includes a starting assist control section 2 for advancing the opening start timing of the exhaust valve EV by using the variable valve train 30 at start of the internal combustion engine 10 and for opening the exhaust valve EV in an intake stroke.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
