PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color separation synthesis system and projection type display device that can suppress an influence of leakage light.SOLUTION: A color separation synthesis system comprises: a cross dichroic prism 19 that synthesizes each color light; a dichroic mirror 8 that transmits blue color; and a first PBS11 that guides the blue light to a liquid crystal panel 18B. The color separation synthesis system further comprises a wavelength selectivity PBS12 that guides green light to a liquid crystal panel 18G and guides red light to a direction different from the liquid crystal panel 18G. The color separation synthesis system further comprises: a relay optical system 21; a second PBS16 that guides the red light to a liquid crystal panel 18R; and a trimming filter 17 that transmits the green light and reflects the red light. Then, the relay optical system 21 is provided between the wavelength selectivity PBS12 and the second PBS16, and the trimming filter 17 is provided between the wavelength selectivity PBS12 and the cross dichroic prism 19.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
