A method and system of contending for the right to use an unlicensed carrier, and a contention fallback method, comprising: transmission nodes each randomly generate a serial number of a first fallback time point of respective first contention fallback windows; the respective transmission nodes simultaneously monitor an unlicensed carrier within the respective first contention fallback windows; before the serial number of the first fallback time point is reached, if the monitored unlicensed carrier is continuously idle, then the transmission nodes continue to contend for the right to use the unlicensed carrier within a second contention fallback window; if the monitored unlicensed carrier is continuously occupied, then the transmission nodes stop contending for the right to use the unlicensed carrier; a transmission node successfully obtaining the right to use the unlicensed carrier through contention within the second contention fallback window transmits data on the unlicensed carrier. In the above technical solution, transmission nodes contend for the right to use the unlicensed carrier within the first and second contention time windows, and only one transmission node can obtain the right, avoiding channel interference caused by contention conflicts; in addition, the contention for the right to use the unlicensed carrier is fair and the unlicensed carrier is rationally utilized. |
