PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing microparticles prepared from emulsions containing biodegradable surface-active block copolymers comprising one or more hydrophobic blocks and one or more hydrophilic blocks.SOLUTION: A method of producing microparticles comprises (i) mixing a solution of a biodegradable encapsulating polymer in an outer continuous phase solvent with an inner phase solvent comprising a bioactive agent, (ii) mixing the biodegradable surface-active block copolymer with one or more immiscible phases as an aqueous solution, (iii) emulsifying the mixture, and (iv) removing solvents for the biodegradable encapsulating polymer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
