PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solution that produces a fiber capable of being sufficiently rapidly decomposed.SOLUTION: A biodegradable fiber includes a composite filament of cellulose and cellulose acetate. A method for producing the above-mentioned fiber comprises a step of preparing a solution dope including a blend of cellulose and cellulose acetate contained in an ionic liquid or an N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO) and a step of spinning or flow-casting the blend in a protonic solvent to produce a fiber. A material produced from the fiber and clothing or soft furnishing produced from the material are provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
