PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine capable of properly controlling an engine even in switching multi-stage injection.SOLUTION: A determination unit determines whether there is a request for switching from a first step number of fuel injection to a second step number of injection, and all cylinders in an in-cylinder injection engine are in a standby state indicating the state where a condition for executing the second step number of fuel injection is satisfied (7003). A control unit, when the cylinders are in the standby state (7003: YES), controls the in-cylinder injection engine according to the second number step of fuel injection (7004).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
