A process for fireproofing fabrics, paper and other porous materials comprises impregnating the material with an aqueous solution of ammonium sulphate, ammonium phosphate, basic acid and sodium tetraborate, the solution also containing glycerine and Turkey red oil. Impregnation may be carried out at a temperature of 30‹ to 50‹ C. and may be accomplished by soaking or by spraying. Formalin may be added to the solution.</p> |
