PURPOSE:To extract various feature variables by a simple constitution by changing an input to three multiplexers constituting a computing element in accordance with the sorts of the feature variables. CONSTITUTION:The outputs (x), (y) of X and Y counters, a multigradation image signal f1(x, y), zero signal, the output x<p>, y<q> of x<p> and y<q> generators, etc., are inputted to a multiplexer (MPX) 100. A binary signal, binary image signal f2(x, y), etc., are inputted to an MPX 110. The MPXs 100, 110 determine the contents, sorts and selecting order of input signals to be selected in accordance with the sort of the extracted feature variable and input the determined contents to an adder 200. The adder 200 inputs also the latch output of a register 300 to add these inputs. An MPX 120 selects an added output terminal Y and the output of the MPX 100 in accordance with the operation process and latches its output in the register 300. The output of the register 300 is fed back to the adder 200 and used as an updated value. The newest updated result goes an extracted feature variable. In addition, various feature variables can be extracted by cascade-connecting between the same type computing elements through a carry. |
