According to various embodiments of the present invention, the present invention may provide an information sharing method for combining uniform resource identifier (URI) of information obtained through internet browsing in sharing and additional information inputted by a sharer into a message, for transmitting the message, and capable of confirming information shared by the sharer and the additional information inputted by the sharer at once and an electronic device for performing the same. Disclosed are an information sharing method and an electronic device for performing the same. The electronic device comprises: a communication module to access a first webpage indicated by a first URI; a message obtaining module to obtain a message including a second URI, which indicates a second webpage, and additional information for content on the second webpage; a control module to compare a URI connected to an object on the first URI or the first webpage with the second URI and to control a display module to display at least one part of the additional information on the first webpage based on a comparison result; and the display module to display at least one part of the additional information on the first webpage.
