Provided are a system and a method for outputting an external sound of a vehicle. The system for outputting an external sound of a vehicle comprises: an external sound collection unit attached to the external surface of a vehicle to collect external sounds on the outside of the vehicle; an external sound extraction unit extracting an external sound which matches a sound model from the collected external sounds through a comparison between the collected external sounds and the sound model; and an external sound output unit outputting the extracted external sound to the inside of the vehicle. According to the present invention, the system enables a driver to recognize an external emergency situation and helps the driver drive safely, by removing unwanted noise from sound coming from the outside of the vehicle and selectively outputting only required sound to the inside of the vehicle. |
