The present invention relates to an image display apparatus and a method for operating the same. The image display apparatus according to embodiments of the present invention includes: an interface unit receiving a stream provided with a plurality of divided images from a single source; a display displaying the divided images on the same screen; and a control unit controlling an indicator for selecting or focusing one of the divided images to be displayed, controlling an image setting object to be displayed in a case where an image setting input is present with respect to the divided image where the indicator is positioned, and controlling a setting value set in accordance with the image setting object to be set to be the same for all of the divided images. According to the present invention, image setting with respect to the divided images can be carried out in a convenient manner. |
