PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding member capable of achieving a low-cost and high-quality light source device in addition to brightness and heat dissipation, and a light source device.SOLUTION: A holding member 10 for a semiconductor light-emitting device 40 includes a first principal surface 10a, and a second principal surface 10b which is an opposite surface of the first principal surface 10a. A thin film part 11 and a thick film part 12 adjacent to the thin film part 11 are arranged on the first principal surface 10a, and an opening 13 for housing the semiconductor light-emitting device 40 covering from the thin film part 11 to the thick film part 12 is arranged on the second principal surface 10b. The thin film part 11 includes a first through hole 14 for exposing terminals of the semiconductor light-emitting device 40 in the opening 13, and a second through hole 15 for mounting a component outside the opening 13.
