Disclosed is a display device comprising: a communication interface unit configured to receive user gesture information and user gaze information from an external device; a display unit configured to display a pre-configured screen; and a control unit configured to control the display unit to display a pre-configured object on the screen when a user gaze is determined to watch the screen by using the received user gaze information, and a user gesture, corresponding to the received user gesture information, is detected. According to various embodiments of the present invention, an additional device such as a remote controller or the like is unnecessary to control a display device.
