PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication management method and a node that can reduce the amount of memory to manage the node while keeping a time necessary to find a fault at the same level as the prior art.SOLUTION: A communication management method and a node according to the present invention make only a successor manage a node to which notice is given when a node fault is found, and thereby achieve a fault detection time almost the same as approaches in non-patent literatures 1 and 2 by only managing 3 log N nodes. Therefore, the present invention can reduce memory necessary for a node to manage nodes. The invention includes means for estimating a node to which notice should be given when the successor also breaks down.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
