The present invention relates to a cooling system and a method for controlling the same. The cooling system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes an inter-cooler, a radiator, a low temperature radiator, a thermostat, a first control valve, a second control valve, a low temperature water pump and a controller. Furthermore, the cooling system may further include a cooling water temperature sensor to deliver cooling water temperature information to the controller and an air temperature sensor to deliver air temperature information of an engine to the controller. If the engine is judged not to be warmed up, the controller heats air by supplying the heated cooling water to the inter-cooler and then supplies the heated air to the engine, and increases air temperature by supplying the cooling water passing through the inter-cooler to the engine again without via the radiator or the low temperature radiator. Also, in case the engine is judged to be warmed up and the air temperature is equal to or less than a target setting temperature, the controller heats the air by supplying the cooling water heated in the engine to the inter-cooler and supplies the heated air to the engine, and supplies temperature-increased air to the engine by supplying the cooling water passing through the inter-cooler to the engine again via the radiator without via the low temperature radiator. In case the air temperature is equal to or above the target setting temperature, the cooling water heated in the engine is supplied to the engine again via the radiator without via the inter-cooler, and the cooling water circulating a closed circuit between the inter-cooler and the low temperature radiator is heat-exchanged with the air supplied to the engine. The cooling system of the present invention can heat the air using the inter-cooler in case the temperature of the air supplied to a suction manifold is low. |
