The invention relates to a sample-taking device for collecting and transporting a biological sample containing nucleic acid, by means of which the biological sample can be processed directly after the sample is taken. The device (2) comprises a swab (20) and a transport container (23) for receiving the swab. The swab carries a sample collection region (22) at one end, and is connected to a closure (24) at the other end, for the moisture-proof sealing of the transport container. At least one fluid reservoir (25) is arranged on the device, said fluid reservoir containing a lysis fluid for breaking down the biological sample, which is released into the transport container after the sample is taken. The device is suitable for taking samples of biological samples containing nucleic acid in the field of medicine, microbiology, hygiene and forensics. |
