PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device that is low in power consumption, and whose manufacturing step is simple, and that is suitable for dealing with high definition and increase in size of a substrate.SOLUTION: A semiconductor device comprises: a first conductive layer having a region that serves as a gate electrode 105 of a transistor; an oxide semiconductor layer 109 having a channel formation region of the transistor; a second conductive layer 111b electrically connected with the oxide semiconductor layer; a first insulating layer 113 above the second conductive layer; a red color filter layer 115 above the first insulating layer; a second insulating layer 117 above the red color filter layer; a third conductive layer 121 above the second insulating layer; and a third insulating layer 127 above the third conductive layer. The third conductive layer has a region that serves as a pixel electrode. The third conductive layer is electrically connected with the second conductive layer. The first conductive layer has a region overlapped with the third insulating layer and overlapped with the red color filter layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
