Provided is a sealing ring which can maintain an excellent low-torque property for a long time. The sealing ring (1) is fitted in an annular groove provided in one member of a housing having a shaft hole and a rotating shaft inserted through the shaft hole. The sealing ring (1) partially protrudes from the annular groove to contact the surface of the other member, and slidably contacts an unsealed fluid-side sidewall surface of the annular groove to seal the annular gap between these members. For a side surface (2) of the ring, which is slidable on the sidewall surface, the outer diameter side (2a) thereof is an inclined surface having an inclination angle by which the width of the ring decreases from the outer diameter side toward the inner diameter side, and in a portion of the inner diameter side (2b) thereof not protruding from the annular groove, there is provided a recess (3) which is a portion not contacting the sidewall surface and is in communication with the inner circumferential surface (1b) of the ring. |
