PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cover sand and a producing method thereof, a binder composition for cover sand, a formed product, and fossil fuel digging assistance dispersion comprising dispersion in which cover sand is distributed in an aqueous medium, with which generation of smell is reduced upon producing the cover sand and upon producing the formed product.SOLUTION: The cover sand of the present invention is formed by coating sand with a binder composition comprising saccharide and ammonium salt. The formed product of the present invention is made of the cover sand. The fossil fuel digging assistance dispersion of the present invention comprises dispersion in which the cover sand is distributed in an aqueous medium. The binder composition for cover sand of the present invention comprises specific volume of saccharide and ammonium salt or specific volume of saccharide, ammonium salt and phenols. A cover sand producing method of the present invention comprises a step of coating sand with the binder composition for cover sand.SELECTED DRAWING: None
