Provided is a content reception device with improved user-friendliness when providing a user with thumbnails of content acquired from broadcasting or the like. This content reception device includes: a content reception unit that acquires content; a generation unit that generates thumbnails of the content acquired by the content reception unit; a thumbnail storage unit that stores the thumbnails generated by the generation unit; a request reception unit that receives thumbnail acquisition requests; and a transmission unit. In response to a thumbnail acquisition request received by the request reception unit, the transmission unit transmits thumbnails stored in the thumbnail storage unit to the source of the transmitted thumbnail acquisition request.
