<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing colored paper in which fixation of a colorant is good and production efficiency can be improved, and the colored paper. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing colored paper in which papermaking is performed by continuously adding a colorant in a pulp material. The method for producing colored paper is characterized in that at least one colorant is added to white water 2 in a paper machine. It is desirable that the colorant is a basic dye and/or a cationic direct dye, and that recycled pulp is contained as a pulp material in an amount of 50% or more.
