The present invention relates to a mobile terminal and a method for controlling the mobile terminal including a display outputting various types of information related to driving an electronic device included in a home automation system. A method for controlling output of screen information according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: extracting a control command related to a driving of an electronic device and condition information corresponding to at least one condition related to the control command by using a process command; searching for at least one image related to the control command and the condition information based on a result of the extraction; and outputting the screen information including the searched image disposed based on preset layout information to output at least one searched image according to a predetermined disposition method.
